Gaye is an active member of the Hagerstown Downtown Rotary Club, St. John's Episcopal Church, The Greater Hagerstown Committee, Washington County Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Maryland 2001 and Leadership Hagerstown 1991. Her previous career was in Public Education. She was appointed as a State Farm Agent in 1987.
